CABTS Executive Vice President Wang Shoucong and Dr. Christ Yuen of AgrifoodAsia signed a MOU on cooperation in Beijing on July 16th, 2012.
According to the MOU, both sides will cooperate on the development of new-type professional farmers, extension and training on new varieties and new technologies. Cooperative activities include joint development of courses with distinctive features, regular CABTS missions of back-bone teachers to Australia on the organization model, curriculum module and the academic credit system, and Australian missions to China to lecture on CABTS training courses of rural development, rural service and rural management. Both sides will also jointly conduct fruit and vegetable production technology trainings on modern agriculture parks and vocational education bases so as to promote the application of new varieties, the development of local agricultural commercialization and farmers’ income growth.
CABTS has long cooperation history with AgrifoodAsia. Such cooperation can be dated back to over a decade years ago. Given the support of Department of International Cooperation of MOA, both sides had cooperation and exchange of visits on continuing education, training of rural migrant workers, training of ethnic minorities, training of agricultural practical technologies, distance education and educational quality assurance, etc.
