1st Session of Workshop on the Training Program for To-be Agricultural Diplomats 2017 successfully held
For the purpose of training qualified agricultural diplomats, the First Session of Workshop on the Training Program for To-be Agricultural Diplomats 2017 was held in Beijing from May 18th to 25th. The Workshop was co-organized by Department of Labor and Personnel of MOA and CABTS. CABTS CPC Party Secretary Hang Dapeng and Vice President Tian Guishan attended the opening ceremony. There were 40 trainees selected from MOA affiliated institutions and local agricultural departments.
The 8-day training was composed of specialized lectures, modulation activities and group discussions, focusing on 14 topics, including agriculture, international politics, supply-side reform, investment, negotiation, and the Belt & Road initiative.14 lecturers, including officials from MOA, MOFA, MOFCOM and international organizations, and scholars from research institutes and universities, were invited to deliver presentations. Based on last year’s experience, this session added a modulated interview for international organization posts. Trainees actively participated in all the activities, and inspired the lecturers by sharing their interview experience and lessons. It was agreed that the Workshop was well-organized, of enriched contents, and enlightened the trainees with diversified prospects to international agricultural cooperation. Trainees expressed their appreciation for better understanding of agriculture in China as well as challenges and future path in agricultural diplomacy. Such Workshop is of great significance to promote international agricultural cooperation in the new era.
