16 departments jointly focus on new-type vocational farmers


On the morning of February 6th, the Liaison Officer Meeting of Central Agricultural Broadcasting and Television School Leading Group was held in Beijing.


Liaison officers from 16 departments participated the meeting, representing MOA, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, National Health and Family Planning, the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, China Central Television Station, China People’s Radio Station, PLA General Logistics Department, Logistics Department of Armed Police, the Central Committee of Communist Youth League, All-China Women’s Federation, the Central Committee of China National Democratic Construction Association, All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and China Association for Science and Technology. They gathered to discuss how to implement the requirements set in the No. 1 Central Document of “developing agricultural vocational education and fostering new-type vocational farmers”. CABTS Executive Vice President Liu Tianjin made a keynote presentation.


After thorough discussion, the participants from competent departments reached the following consensus on future work: First, to build a joint educational platform; second, to promote joint school operation; third, to jointly promote policy making.


CABTS will make full play of its distinctive role and advantages in joint school operation, and contribute to achieving major goals of MOA by accomplishing the following 9 tasks:


First, to make more study for developing plans in a scientific manner; second, to accumulate experience for providing category-based guidance; third, to seek preferential policies for farmers of practical skills; fourth, to improve capacity building in agricultural training and education; fifth, to coordinate management over the development and use of teaching materials; sixth, to introduce diversified tools for better distance education; seventh, to leverage all possible resources for agricultural vocational education; eighth, to carry out several campaigns on awareness-raising; ninth, to intensify study for a more competent working team.
