BEIJING—Mr. Zhang Taolin, Vice Minister of Agriculture and President of CABTS, paid a visit to the CABTS headquarters in Beijing on February 1st, 2012.
Vice Minister Zhang, accompanied by Mr. Bai Jinming, Director-General of Department of Science, Technology and Education of MOA, studied on farmers’ education and training work, and delivered his New Year greetings to all the CABTS staff in Beijing.
He went around the offices, asked questions and explored the potentials on farmers’ training, vocational education, training material development, foreign exchange, communication and advocacy and system building in the new context.
After listening to the briefings by Mr. Wang Shoucong, Executive Vice President of CABTS, Vice Minister Zhang put forward several recommendations. First, fully implement the No. 1 Document of the CPC Central Committee for 2012. Second, seize the opportunity and re-orient the work priorities. Third, synergize resources and consolidate efforts from the top to the bottom. Forth, reinforce the development of agricultural science and technology.
In the meantime, efforts should be made to promote the training campaigns on agricultural science and technology at the winter-spring season as to foster a batch of new-type vocational farmers and the major players in modern agricultural businesses.
The No. 1 Document of the CPC Central Committee for 2012 was issued on the same date of Vice Minister Zhang’s visit to the CABTS headquarters.
