Third Training Session for To-be Agricultural Diplomats held in Beijing
From October 17th to 21st, the Third Training Session for To-be Agricultural Diplomats was co-hosted by Department of Personnel and Labor of MOA and CABTS in Beijing. CABTS Vice President Tian Guishan attended the opening ceremony. 50 trainees from all over the country attended the Session.
The 5-day training was composed of specialized lectures and group discussions, focusing on 8 topics, namely the transformation of agriculture in China and the opportunities brought along by the Belt and Road Initiative, modern agriculture in the open-up context, capacity building in international organizations, food security from the perspective of globalization, diplomacy as a major country with the Chinese characteristics, etiquette for international affairs, China’s agricultural trade and FTZ negotiations, the status-quo and trend of use of foreign capital in China’s agriculture. Officials from MOA and MOFA, and scholars from research institutes and universities were invited to deliver lectures. At the group discussions, trainees had intensive exchanges on China’s agricultural opening-up and cooperation, shared their gains at the session, and put forward observations and suggestions.
At the closing ceremony on October 21st, CABTS Vice President Tian Guishan attended and delivered a speech, while representatives from four trainee groups made presentations respectively.
