CABTS delegation visited US for bilateral cooperation
For implementing the MOU between CABTS and ADEC, upon the invitation of Mr. Dave King, Associate Provost of Oregon State University and Chair of ADEC Board of Directors, CABTS Vice President Yan Dongquan, headed a delegation, visited the Agricultural College of Oregon State University and North Research and Outreach Center and exchanged views on online learning and farmers’ educationfrom August 7th to 11th, 2016.
CABTS delegation had discussions with distance learning scholars from Oregon State University on how to use Storyline to develop learning modules for mobile terminals, exchanged ideas on the mixed learning modality and its extension in US universities, and watched the online learning management system for students majored on agricultural education and sciences. It also had meetings with the Head and Deputy Head of Agricultural College of Oregon State University, the Dean of Agricultural Education and Sciences Department, and other teaching and administrative faculty members. The delegation also introduced the CABTS system, teaching methods, and the status-quo of China’s farmer education, and exchanged views on how to have future cooperation.
The delegation also learned about the agricultural extension system of US universities. North Research and Outreach Center is one of 11 outreach centers of Oregon State University across the State. During the visit, delegation members got better understanding about the small household farmer training, agricultural experiment and extension, and technical service. They also paid visit to the field demonstration farm, and had meetings with the management staff and teachers at the Center.
