First Training Session for To-be Agricultural Diplomats held in Beijing

From June 13th to 17th, the First Training Session for To-be Agricultural Diplomats was co-hosted by Department of Personnel and Labor of MOA and CABTS in Beijing. Mr. Bi Meijia, Director-General of Personnel and Labor of MOA attended the opening ceremony and delivered speech, while Ms. Lu Hong, Deputy Director General of Personnel and Labor of MOA, Mr. Zhang Lubiao, Deputy Director General of International Cooperation of MOA, Mr. Liu Tianjin, CABTS Executive Vice President, and representatives from the member of the Inter-Ministerial Joint Meeting on Agricultural International Cooperation attended the opening ceremony. 60 trainees from 31 MOA affiliated institutions attended the Session.

The 5-day training was composed of specialized lectures and group discussions, focusing on 8 topics, namely China’s international agricultural cooperation, international politics and diplomacy, agricultural overseas investment and negotiations, “Going-global” of China’s agriculture, hot topics of agricultural trade and industry safety. Officials from MOA, MOFA, MOFCOM and international organizations, and scholars from research institutes and universities were invited to deliver lectures. At the group discussions, trainees had intensive exchanges on China’s agricultural opening-up and cooperation, shared their gains at the session, and put forward observations and suggestions. Trainees also visited the the radio, TV and online education centers of CABTS.

 

 

 

 

 

The training session not only used the conventional training methods, but also adopted modern IT training methods. Niu Dun, Representative of China to UN Food and Agricultural Agencies were invited to deliver a distance lecture via audio and video communication.

  

  

At the closing ceremony on June 17th, CABTS Vice President Chen Zhi attended and delivered a speech, while representatives from four trainee groups made presentations respectively, and two trainee shared his past experience of working overseas.

 

The First Session was concluded with full success.
