Workshop on Career Farmer Education of CABTS held in Huaxi Village of Jiangsu Province

The workshop of career farmer education of CABTS was conducted in Huaxi Village of Jiangsu Province July 28-29, 2015. The workshop focused on exchange of best practices in training of career farmers, analysis of the situation and tasks faced in vocational education of CABTS and discussion on measures and approaches of stabilizing vocational school. Mr. Liu Tianjin, Executive Vice President of CABTS and Director of Farmers’ Science and Technology Training Center of the Ministry of Agriculture attended the workshop and made important speech. Mr. Qi Guo, Vice President of CABTS delivered a keynote report titled “Meeting the Challenge and Applying Multiple Measures to Promote the Sustainable and Stable Development of Vocational Education of CABTS”. Four grassroots CABTS schools of Taixing of Jiangsu, Fengnan of Hebei, Dongxihu of Hubei and Sanmenxia of Hunan presented their experiences in vocational education. Mr. Yuan Rijin of Jiangsu Provincial Agricultural Commission and Mr. Wu Xieen, the Party Secretary of Huaxi Village attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Over 50 vice presidents and section chief of instructional affairs of provincial CABTS schools attended the meeting.

 

Participants of the meeting unanimously recognized that the spirits of Huaxi should be seriously adopted and popularized and great efforts are needed to carry out training of new type of career farmers, stabilize the development of vocational education of farmers. At the same time, practitioners of farmer training and education should enhance their awareness, seize the opportunity, innovate and leverage join action of the system so as to fulfill the mission given by the era to the training of new type of career farmers and build up a farmer vocational education system suitable to the requirements of modern agricultural development.
