In April 2013, at the invitation of AOC RAAD, a group of six professionals headed by the Executive Vice President of CABTS studied vocational education of farmers in the Netherlands. The group also had in-depth exchange and discussion with counterparts of the Netherlands on vocational education of farmers and both sides have agreed on future cooperation.
The group visited AOC RAAD, the digitalized learning resource development center of Ontwikkel Education Foundation, Lentiz Education Group, Nordwin Vocational College, Flower Auction of the Netherlands and agricultural enterprises of K.P. Holland and Demokwekerij. Members of the study group visited tomato greenhouses of public education and practice facilities of greenhouse floral production for students, attended learning and practice of BTEC students. The group met with the Educational Councilor of the Chinese Embassy to the Netherlands and exchanged views on cooperation and development of vocational education of farmers in China and the Netherlands.
Through study, visit and exchange, the group learnt advanced education concepts and administration of the Netherlands: firstly, “diversion, two-track and consistency” - open education institutional system is the foundation for the development of new type of professional farmers; secondly, “vocational training system” and “apprenticeship” – flexible vocation education and training system is the fundamental guarantee to the development of new type of professional farmers; thirdly, “golden triangle” and “association” – the schooling mechanism of integrating of government, education and industry and enterprises and schools cooperation are important guarantee to the development of new type of professional farmers; fourthly, “coupling of two types of instructors” and “module approach” – programmatic schooling model is an effective approach to the development of new type of professional farmers.
