BEIJING-- CABTS launched the Distance Training Program on Modern Agricultural Technology and Farming Civilization through its satellite network covering 600 stations across the country on February 9th, 2012.
Mr. Wang Shoucong, Executive Vice President of CABTS, delivered a mobilizing speech at the Launching Ceremony held at the main studio of CABTS headquarters in Beijing, which was chaired by Mr. Liu Tianjin, Vice President of CABTS.
The Launching Ceremony was followed by the first session of the Training Program. During the session, Mr. Xu Xiaoqing, Director of Research Department of Rural Economy, Development Research Center of the State Council, introduced rural landscape and policies in 2012, while Mr. Tang Huajun, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), presented on technology-based modern agriculture.
Students at the satellite stations watched the live broadcasting of the Launching Ceremony and the presentations.
The Distance Training Program is one of the nine training campaigns on agricultural science and technology at the winter-spring season. The training activities of the Program include a series lectures on modern agricultural science and technology, how to update the knowledge of agricultural technicians, and farming civilization. A group of renowned experts are to be invited to give presentations on the development and application of modern agricultural science and technology, modern technologies on crop farming and animal farming, how to inherit and carry forward farming civilization, etc.
